Frieren (フリーレン)

Frieren is the main character in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. As an elf who has lived for over a thousand years, she was once a member of the Hero Party, traveling with the legendary hero Himmel and his companions on their journey to defeat the Demon King. After their adventure ends, Frieren embarks on her own journey, reflecting on her past relationships and the passage of time, which she perceives very differently from humans due to her long lifespan.

Appearance

Frieren has striking silver hair and vibrant green eyes, which complement her graceful, otherworldly appearance. Her long lifespan is reflected in her composed and calm demeanor, yet her youthful appearance betrays the centuries of experiences she has lived through. Despite being an elf, Frieren does not fully embrace the typical ethereal elegance associated with her kind and instead presents a more understated elegance, especially in her attire as a mage. She is often seen wearing a simple cloak and mage’s attire that allow her to blend in during her travels.

Personality

Frieren is a contemplative and somewhat detached individual, a product of her prolonged life and experiences. She tends to view the world with a certain level of indifference, finding it hard to connect emotionally with others, especially given her long lifespan compared to that of humans. However, her travels and interactions with newer companions, such as Fern and Stark, gradually allow her to rediscover the meaning of bonds and relationships. Though not overly expressive, Frieren possesses a deep sense of duty and care for those she befriends, often showing her affection in subtle ways. Her journey becomes one of personal growth, as she learns to appreciate the fleeting moments of life that those around her experience.
