Kyouka Uzen is the commander of the Demon Defense Corps's 7th Squad.

Hailing from the Oisawa region in Yamagata Prefecture, near Mount Gassan, Kyouka lived a relatively normal life until a disaster befell her hometown. Her village was attacked by a horde of Shuuki, leaving her as the sole survivor. The experience left her with a deep hatred for Shuuki, and inspired her to dedicate her life to eradicating the Shuuki and the threat they posed to humanity.

After recovering from her injuries, Kyouka trained herself physically and mentally, and was eventually recruited into the Demon Defense Corps, and then the 7th Squad, eventually rising to become the squad's commander. Kyouka's ultimate goal is to become influential enough within the Demon Defense Corps to become the organization's Supreme Commander.
As the ranking officer in the 7th Squad, Kyouka is responsible for the discipline, training, and welfare of the servicewomen (and as of late, her slave) within her squadron. She leads them on missions throughout the dimension of Mato, rescuing civilians in trouble and eradicating hordes of Shuuki.

When on missions, Kyouka is a fierce combatant, destroying Shuuki without mercy and leading from the front. Though she can sometimes be overly serious, to the point of forgetting to relax, she cares deeply for her subordinates and will do anything to ensure their safety.

In the series, Kyouka's unique power is called "Slave". It allows her to make slavery contracts with living creatures, whom she can then command as combat slaves. While under her control, slaves gain a boost to their abilities. In the case of her first (and only) human slave, Yuuki Wakura, he was able to transform into an alternate form which granted him increased strength, speed, and endurance. After calling on her slaves' power, Kyouka must reward her slaves based on their effort, and their innate desires. She can also lend her slaves to other people to use, with the lender also having to reward the slave once the lending period is complete.
