Tanjirou Kamado (竈門 炭治郎)

Tanjirou Kamado is the main protagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. A kind-hearted young man, Tanjirou becomes a Demon Slayer after his family is slaughtered by demons, and his sister Nezuko is turned into a demon herself. His goal is to find a way to turn Nezuko back into a human and avenge his family by defeating Muzan Kibutsuji, the demon responsible for his family’s massacre. Throughout the series, Tanjirou is known for his unwavering determination, empathy for others, and his incredible sense of smell, which helps him track demons and detect threats in battle.

Mount Natagumo Arc

In one of Tanjirou’s early missions, he, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, faces the Spider Demon Family on Mount Natagumo. This arc highlights Tanjirou’s growing bond with his fellow Demon Slayers and his increasing strength as he fights to protect his friends and Nezuko.

Mugen Train Arc

Tanjirou, alongside Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, boards the Mugen Train to assist the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, in a mission to defeat the demon Enmu. This arc is pivotal for Tanjirou’s development as he witnesses the heroic sacrifice of Rengoku and learns to carry on his legacy. The emotional toll of losing Rengoku pushes Tanjirou to become stronger and more determined to defeat Muzan Kibutsuji.
Entertainment District Arc

Tanjirou and his allies accompany the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, to infiltrate the Entertainment District and defeat the Upper Rank demon siblings, Daki and Gyutaro. During this arc, Tanjirou pushes his abilities to the limit, using both Water and Sun Breathing to fight powerful enemies. His determination to protect the innocent and save Nezuko drives him through intense battles.
Final Battle Arc

In the final arc of Demon Slayer, Tanjirou plays a central role in the battle against Muzan Kibutsuji. Tanjirou's strength and abilities are tested like never before as he faces the most powerful demon in existence. Despite suffering heavy injuries and nearly losing his life, Tanjirou continues to fight for the future of humanity and his sister. In the end, Muzan is defeated, but Tanjirou is turned into a demon. Thanks to Nezuko and his friends, Tanjirou is eventually returned to human form, marking the end of his journey.
